This is NOT a hobby. This is my BUSINESS, my CAREER, and how I PAY MY BILLS!

When you cancel your appointment the same day, at the last minute, or AFTER your appointment was supposed to start, you have taken away my opportunity to earn income. That appointment time was reserved specifically for YOU. Now I'm left with an empty chair, zero dollars, and no time to fill that spot.

Let's also talk about scheduling.

My business hours are MY business hours. I am happy to accommodate scheduling requests WITHIN my regular business hours, but I will NOT rearrange my personal life, come in early, stay late, or work on my days off to accommodate yours.

I understand that you may not get off work until 5:30, 6:00, or even 7:00. However, I get off at 6:00 PM. Just as you have a schedule and responsibilities outside of work, SO DO I.

A few things to be clear about:

- ALL appointments are booked ONLINE.
- NO squeeze-ins.
- NO after-hours appointments.
- NO appointments on my days off.
- NO rearranging my schedule to accommodate yours.
- PLEASE respect your scheduled appointment time.

Being self-employed does NOT mean I'm available whenever it's convenient for everyone else. It means I have established business hours, policies, and boundaries that allow me to operate professionally and maintain a life outside of work.

I love what I do, and I appreciate every client who respects my time and my business. But loving my work does not mean my time is any less valuable than yours.

Please book accordingly, plan accordingly, and respect the policies.

7 months later… and where are the extensions? 👀

This was a retie on 7-month-old loc extensions, and this is exactly what you want to see as the locs mature — a seamless transition from natural hair to extension.

No bulky connection points. No obvious “this is where the extension starts.” Just mature-looking locs that flow naturally from root to tip. 🙌🏾

A well-executed loc extension installation should get better and more natural-looking with time, and these understood the assignment.

A clean grid doesn’t happen by accident — it’s created with intention.

During a retie, I often use clips to hold stray hairs out of the way so each loc stays in its proper section. This simple step helps maintain a crisp grid and prevents neighboring hairs from getting pulled into the wrong loc.

Clips are especially helpful when working with:

• Very thick hair where density can hide the grid
• Very fine hair that likes to wander into neighboring sections
• Partial reties where precision matters even more

Small techniques like this are what keep microlocs looking neat, healthy, and consistent over time.

First Microloc Retie + Shampoo on Extensions ✨

These locs are coming along beautifully and settling in exactly the way they should.

Quick note you might notice: I do NOT braid & band while shampooing in the studio. That’s because I’m working with professional control, proper tension, and the right technique to protect the extensions during the wash.

At home, it’s a different story.
Clients are instructed to ALWAYS braid & band before shampooing on your own.

Why? Because it’s absolutely imperative for preventing:

slipping
unraveling
unnecessary stress on the extensions

In the shop, I’ve got it handled. At home… braid & band like your locs depend on it — because they do. 😉

Old work vs. correct work — and yes, there’s a BIG difference.

The first two photos show a microloc extension install that was done incorrectly — bulky, poorly constructed, and honestly… just not acceptable.

We removed those awful extensions and replaced them with SolarLocs (the top loc extensions on the market).

The best part? We were able to keep the client’s original base, which helps protect the foundation and prevents unnecessary stress or stylist damage.

The last few photos show what it’s supposed to look like:

✔ clean
✔ seamless
✔ lightweight
✔ professional
✔ built to last

Microlocs are too much of an investment to be done the wrong way. Tradition matters — quality always wins.
